Twitter’s clean Up of fake Accounts: PM Modi and Other Major Politicians Lost Mass Followers:
Nowadays, A persons Popularity is Measured by His/her online Followers. In a World where Social Media Platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. have become primary source for Celebrities to Connect with their fans. even politicians are getting Active more and more on Various social media platforms. But many of these social media platforms are also flooded with fake accounts. To limit such account Twitter recently started removing such accounts that are either inactive, locked or doing suspicious activities.
In the series of Twitter fake followers remove, many celebrities and politicians lost mass number of followers. Even Indian Prime Minster Mr. Narendra Modi also lost around 2,84,746 followers. His twitter follower count decreased from 43.4 M to 43.1 M.
The stats are provided by SocialBlade.com that tracks the followers on Twitter on daily basis. As per their report many other politician’s accounts also lost many followers including Rahul Gandhi who lost 17,503 followers.
The other accounts like official handle of PMO lost 140,635 followers, the External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, lost close to 74,132 followers and BJP President Amit Shah lost 33,363 followers. Opposition leaders like Congress leader Shashi Tharoor lost 1,51,509 followers and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal lost 91,555 followers.
Earlier this week, Vijaya Gadde, Twitter’s Legal, Policy and Trust and Safety Head, said,
“We understand this may be hard for some, but we believe accuracy and transparency make Twitter a more trusted service for public conversation.”
Although as per the reports Twitter has not made any official statement for the same.
